New Thots for DON’T DO AS I DO!

December 5, 2011 — Where does “Happy” start in you?  Where in your body do you first begin to feel it when you feel happy?  And just exactly what are these sensations?  Warm? Tingly? Eager?  Give your attention to this.  And, as you feel that one place and its sensations, notice where else you feel happiness in your body.  Notice these things as clearly as you can.  Once you know this, you give yourself a powerful way to open your life to happiness at will, whenever you desire to experience it.  Simply recreate those sensations and you will reawaken that emotion.  Emotion – Sensation – Imagination are inextricably linked one to the other.  And, at any moment you choose, you can activate any one of them as your way to influence the direction of your experience.

November 25, 2011 — Whatever you are taught, apply it as quickly and as frequently as you can to every possible aspect of your current life.  To enhance, enrich and expand your life is, after all, the very reason for learning anything.

November 25, 2011 — There is an essential piece to the human puzzle that only you can add.  And until you discover, nuture, develop and share it, the world remains poorer, less harmonious and stilted in its evolution.

November 4, 2011 — Consider that the most important quality to any desire is your belief that you deserve the fulfillment of that desire.  Whatever it is that you want, only when you yourself believe that it can be yours, can it be yours.  Even if others do all they can to get it for you, the thing or the experience will be quickly taken from you if you don’t believe you deserve it.  Therefore, to believe that you are deserving of something is very different from thinking that you are entitled to something because of your status or your parent’s social position or your affiliation with other people.  None of those determine the worthiness that is required before a person can confidently and irrefutibly occupy his or her personal desire.

November 3, 2011 — The desire to find and to walk your own path in life is tremendously strong: you are physically a unique being, and you are here to live a unique life.  When you honor and allow your uniqueness to guide you, this desire will be fulfilled.  You will feel satisfied being who you are.  Sometimes, you may “think” you are on the right path, and, sometimes, other people will tell you that you are on the right path.  Yet, the most certain way you will know your own path is by how you feel.  However, being attuned to what you feel requires attention and sensitivity; you must be able to discern between the rabid excitement of doing something dangerous and the thrill of being in the groove of your very own unique and precioius life.

October 7, 2011 — One of the sweetest results of playing the Count Your Breakfast Blessings game is the realization that we are not driven along Life’s road by a pitchfork stabbing us in the behind.  Instead, we can clearly see that we are being carried in a charriot of goodness built and drawn onward by the work of our fellow humans all around the world.

October 7, 2011 — You owe no allegiance to your parents’ fears or bad ideas.

How can you know which of their ideas are bad?  Watch them.  Do they do what they are telling you to do?  And, if they, themselves, follow their own advice, does doing that thing make them happy?  If your answer is “No” to either of these, understand that, in your parent’s own mind, the suggestion is a bad idea.

How can you tell what they fear?  This is most evident by their insistence that you agree with them about it.  When we are relaxed in our own minds, when we are at peace with our own thoughts, we don’t need others to think the same way.  We can allow others to have their own perceptions and their own experiences.  But, when we are nuts with anxiety, we cannot help but attempt to spread that anxiety to whomever is nearby — it’s a lot like having a bad cold and sneezing all over your friends.

Nevertheless, even when your parents seem, at least momentarily, stuck in fear and consumed with bad ideas, you don’t have to join them.
